The cosmetics market in the Middle East and Africa is rapidly developing due to economic and population growth and rising disposable incomes. Additionally, according to reports between 2010 and 2015 skin care value sales in Africa and the Middle East rose at an estimated 12% CAGR in comparison to the around 7% enjoyed in the global skin care market.
Organised by German exhibition company Epoc Messe Frankfurt, the annual trade exhibition for beauty products, hair, fragrances and well being in the Middle East provides the ideal platform to embrace these growing trends and reach new markets. Beautyworld Middle East, taking place in 2016 from May 15 to 17, has gained in popularity with a marked increase in African business participation.
2016 will see the 19th edition of Beautyworld Middle East take place in Dubai from May 27 - 29. In 2013 the trade fair enjoyed a substantial increase in exhibitor numbers and an increase in visitor numbers welcoming over 22,000 visitors – a long stride ahead of visitor numbers in 2012, a show that in itself was exceptionally attended.
With 1,441 exhibitors from 60 countries in 2015, the event’s stature as an unmatched platform to reach the varied markets across the region is undeniable. The international mix of exhibitors and brands benefit greatly from the opportunity presented at the show to exhibit and promote their products to a large number of visitors, as well as liaising with key decision makers.
According to Mr. Nazih Hamad, Managing Director of Nazih Group, exhibiting at Beautyworld Middle East is an essential part of his annual calendar. He stated after the most recent edition: “We are very happy with Beautyworld Middle East. The visitor quality has been very good – B2B visitors with genuine interest. Beautyworld Middle East covers a broad spectrum of the beauty sector with exhibitors specialising in: Cosmetics, skincare & fragrances; hair, nails & accessories; machinery, packaging and raw materials; and professional equipment and spa, to name some of the major business areas to be found on the show floor.
